I don’t really have any quibble with any of this except for the part where it says a protagonist must be likable.  I’m a big fan of the worthy-of-my-despise main character (or better, an entire cast of that type) and think a lot can be gained from such characters.  Really has nothing to do with the feminist message you’re trying to present; that sentence just caught my eye.
